Curriculum

Hillview Preschool prides itself on a program that is designed for the age group served, and implemented with attention to the needs of and differences among individual students.

Our program provides a safe and nurturing environment that promotes the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of children, while responding to the needs of families.

Learning is enriched through a variety of curriculum themes offered during the preschool year. Examples of themes that may be covered are: space, dinosaurs, fairy tales, and community helpers.

PLAY is work to children.  It is a fundamental part of learning. Hillview Preschool offers creative materials to encourage imaginative play.   Exploration of science centers, manipulatives, and sensory tables is encouraged, allowing children to gain confidence in their own abilities.

Special Activities throughout the school year may include:

  • Holiday parties
  • Mom’s Day
  • Dad’s Day
  • Fall Festival
  • Spring Fling
  • Art Night
  • Read Night
  • 4-year-old graduation

Field trips may include:

  • Pumpkin patch
  • Fire station
  • Nature centers
  • Local businesses
  • Zoo

All classes say a prayer before snack time. Hillview Methodist Church pastors or leadership may be guests in the classroom for stories, or music throughout the year.
